Greg Reid Charges
Recently, there has been a rash of college football players
getting into trouble off the field.
Athletes such as Isaiah Crowell and Greg Reid are the most high profile
of these athletes. Greg Reid plays
cornerback for Florida State University, he was charged with possession of
marijuana and driving with a suspended license.
I am a college athlete and there many instances and ways to get in
trouble off the field. Because, of the
culture of most college campuses use of alcohol and marijuana when partying is
common; however as an athlete you have to be a little more focused and
deliberate in the things that partake in.
You must also be conscious of things that will cause you to lose the
opportunity to further your education on a full scholarship. I think some of the athletes that have
been getting in trouble have lost site
of the most valuable part of college which is gaining your degree not football
or partying.

I agree with you. I think the peer pressure that starts in high school (sometimes even earlier) definitely continues through college. Being a college athlete and receiving a full scholarship is a blessing that should be cherished, rather than taken for granted.
