maryland track meet

This past weekend at the university of md the terps hosted their invitational meet. The terps had some good and mediocre performances. IN the thorws the lady terps took 1-2-3 in the hammer. Moriah Young Kristen Batts and Jessie echard placed 1-3 and are looking giood heading into conferences. Amina smith placed first in the high jump with a solid jump of 5'6" which is far off her pr but well enough to win the meet. The womens 4x100 squad got first looking very strong in their race. On the mens side, freshman josh hagighi placed first in the shot put on his last attempt. Although banged up, he is looking to place high at the conference meet. Sensational high jumper jon hill did not compete. He is trying to perserve the torn miniscus in his knee for the rest of the season in hopes of placing high at the conference, regional, and nationbal meet. Team mate dwight barbiasz also did not compete and is training hard to win acc's hopefully break the school record. The mens and womens terps will be competing at duke for the acc's in 2 weeks and look to show a good performance.
